MERRY CHRISTMAHANAKWANZICA!

Wow it's been forever since I've posted anything! Long story short is that we got rid of our internet at home as it cost too much for now to keep it. We will be getting it back up soon though so maybe I can post more.

Nothing other than work going on here. Thankfully Karen got herself a new job and will be making some good money-we can use it. Good news though, as of Halloween, Karen and I are engaged. I had Kokomo, our dog for those not in the know, do the asking. I woke up early with her and put the ring box on her collar. In the box I had a note that said, 'Mommy will you marry Daddy?' and Karen said yes to her. It was very cute.

I finally did a new drawing though! I did another picture for my nephew. This time I stuck with what I know, and that's fantasy. I was definitely more in my comfort zone on this one. Drawing other people's characters makes me so nervous-I always want to make sure I do them right and not look like they have Down's or not look like the character at all. I roughed this one up over the weekend, and after a few more goes at it, I settled on this. I like it, with the exception of the cave walls. I totally flaked on them and I know they look like shit. I just didn't feel doing crag-lines and what not as I didn't think they would work out and not flow right with the picture. That and it would have taken forever to re-work that idea into the picture. Instead I vomited ink onto it and thus it looks like ass. Other than that though I love it. The wizard the only weak character in my opinion but still looks nice. I should have put some runes and stuff on his robes, but it's done. So without rambling on any further here it is:

Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday for whatever you celebrate!!

HALLOWEEN STORY!

Howdy y'all! I know I haven't posted anything in forever, but i haven't had a chance to while at work, and since we got rid of our internet at home i've had no chance to post anything. I've been watching a lot of horror/thriller/suspense movies the past couple of weeks and I want to post about some of them just haven't had a chance. BUT being this is the time of year for creepy, scary stuff, I felt I'd share a little something with anyone who's actually reading! Years ago I was starting an idea for a novel and have yet to ever get back to working on it, but I plan to. I re-worked my original prelude chapter to send over to Todd and his story contest at his blog and felt I'd post it here. Hope ya like it!
***************************************************************************************

The skies raged with lightning and the ground shook with thunder. Rain came down in sheets as Father Hennessy tried to find shelter from the storm in the desolate town. As he came upon a cemetery, lightning streaked across the sky giving him a brief glance of a building in the middle of the cemetery. He opened the gates and entered the burial grounds of the once thriving small town.

"I've got to get out of this storm," said Hennessy as he frantically ran towards the building. Halfway there he tripped on his robe, landing flat on his face. As he got to his knees, lightning struck again, and he found himself looking up at the most hideous tombstone he had ever seen. Atop it was a statue of a man in tattered robes, and as the lightening struck again he saw it wasn't a man, but a monster.

A hood half hid the monster’s face, but the features he could make out were a large, pointed ear sticking out from a hole in the hood, and a mouth full of razor sharp teeth, with the incisors being slightly larger than the others resembling those of a vampire. Father Hennessy was about to get up when the ground shook causing him to lose his balance. He failed to notice a hand coming up from the ground, and as he tried to stand, it grasped his right ankle. He cried out in horror and tried to break free of the hands' grip, but it was no use. Hennessy kicked at the hand with his other foot trying to break the hand off his ankle. Then a second hand came up, followed by the upper half of the body to which they belonged. What he saw scared him more than he’s ever been scared before, it was the living embodiment of the statue.

“Lord help me!” screamed Hennessy, as the creature pulled the rest of it’s decayed body from the ground. As the monster pulled itself from the ground it released it’s grip on Hennessy’s foot, and Hennessy ran for the building in the middle of the cemetery. A smile appeared on the creature’s face as it stood up and followed after the priest. As Hennessy reached the building, he noticed that the door was bolted from the inside.

“Damn!” he muttered as he turned around and saw the creature lumbering towards him. He looked around for a place to hide, but found nothing. He ran in the other direction from which the creature was approaching. As he was running he heard something fly overhead, so he stopped short, sliding on the slippery ground. Before he could fall he was lifted from the ground by the creature. Holding him up by his robes, the creature’s teeth gleamed as lightning struck again. The last thing Father Hennessy ever saw were the creature’s fangs going for his throat and then a flash of light.

As the creature finished it’s feeding, it looked around in disbelief and fell to its knees. It put its hands over it’s face and cried as it repeated to itself over and over, “No, not again. This can’t be happening again.” A bolt of lightning then struck the ground before him and he raised a fist to the skies and cursed at the heavens.

FIRE IN THE HOLE PART 10-THE FINALE!!!!

Ok so here it is the end of the story. I failed miserably at my main intention, which was to put this out weekly. Todd gave me a good tip that I should have it finished and let it stew for a bit, then take a run through it and see how I feel about it. Then let it loose upon the world. Next time I write something I will do that, but I was looking to do this on the fly and kinda just run with it. Other than my outline of where I wanted it to go, I didn't get into the story until I started it. Time got the best of me, but I've got it done, learned a valuable lesson and had a blast working with the crew I chose for the story. The story of the greys was something I wanted to do for a long time, and this allowed me a great outlet for it and to be able to work with the 'Haps. So here we go, enjoy the ending!! And thanks again to Todd for letting me play!!

“Big,” trembled Molly. “You and Peter need to get us all out of here as fast as possible. The things the lead alien-“

“Molly, he’s dead. Look,” said Big as he pointed at the tank. “Where were you, what did he do to you?”

“I don’t want to talk about it. We still need to get out of here though. There’s a strangeness here that we need to get away from, or we’ll be devoured by it.”

“Hey Big!” yelled Choopie. ”I found this panel over here on the other side of the tank. It’s got this button on it, I wonder what it does?!”

“Choopie, don’t push that button. Step away from the pa-“

Choopie pushed the button and the room exploded in red flashing lights and a really obnoxious alarm.

“What did you do that for ya little creep?!” yelled Hammerskold.

“COMPLEX IMPLOSION IMMENENT. COUNTDOWN 15 MINUTES.”

“Um, that’s not good is it Big?” asked Choopie.

“No, it’s not. We need to get out of here now!”

“Wow he just continues with the stupidity.” Muttered Hammerskold.

They all headed for the door that they came in from but it was locked. Trying the door on the side of the room they found that one shut tight as well.

“Why would they set the doors to lockdown mode? Wouldn’t they want to be able to escape?” asked Merrow.

“I think the idea was to not let anyone escape.” replied Big. “I believe we may be stuck down here.”

“No we aren’t Big!” called Choopie, back by the tank. “I found a door hidden behind the tank. There’s another panel thingy with a button. Can I push this one?”

They all ran over to where he was standing and sure enough there was a door. Big pushed the button and the door opened.

“COMPLEX IMPLOSION IMMENENT. COUNTDOWN 13 MINUTES.

“C’mon this has to be some kind of escape route.” Said Big.

The door led into a corridor with a slight incline. The flashing red lights were the only light source and the alarms were a little duller in the corridor. They moved as fast as they could. Hammerskold took point laser rifle in hand with Molly taking the rear still slightly terrified and constantly looking behind her. The corridor leveled out and eventually they came to a bend and they continued on. The ever present reminder letting them know every minute where they stood-currently they had 5 minutes left to whatever fate would befall them if they didn’t get out in time.

The corridor seemed like it went on forever and they were getting tired from the forced run to get out, well except Molly, who was still terrified. Finally they reached an end to the corridor. The good news-there was a door, the bad news-it didn’t seem like it was going to open, the even worst news-they were at the minute mark to get out. Frantically Big looked for something to open the door with, but there wasn’t any touch panel or buttons of any kind around it. Choopie went to slump down against the door and fell right through it.

“Big!” he said peeking his head back through the door. “It’s the outside!! We made it c’mon, there’s a crew here from BEDLAM!”

As the overhead countdown started its final count from 5 seconds they all closed their eyes and jumped through the door hoping the door would hold in the imploding complex.

Outside they found themselves outside again back near the hole they were sent to investigate. There was indeed a BEDAM crew there, having come to find out what happened to the team. They had cordoned off the area under the guise of a hazmat team so as to keep anyone who stumbled into the area away. Inside of a large tent Big, Choopie and Hammerskold were talking with the Chief, letting him know what had happened to them. What they had seen and encountered after being taken captive by the greys.

“Ok so the leader of the greys had telepathic and telekinetic powers, but the part I don’t get is what happened to Molly?” asked the Chief. “What happened to her and why is she still scared? Was he really able to send her to the other side?”

“From what I can gather Chief,” explained Big. “I don’t think so. I can’t believe they would have the power to do that, otherwise we would have all had similar fates once he figured out we were going to be any kind of trouble. Thanks to Merrow though we were able to turn the tables on them.”

“Speaking of Merrow, Big, she really saved the day. Good thing you had her with you.”

“Yeah, she’s something else huh Chief?” asked Hammerskold as he looked outside the tent where Merrow was sitting and talking with Molly.

“Well, I’m glad everything turned out ok. It’s a real shame that the greys complex is destroyed. We found no trace of it at all, with the exception of the hole which blew out debris from the implosion.”

“Somehow Chief,” said Choopie sounding strangely retrospective. “I don’t think that’s the last well see or hear from them.”

Outside the cordoned off area a figure walked off muttering as it did so, “They can’t keep me from my hole, one day I’ll find out what went on here.”

FIRE IN THE HOLE PART 9!

yeah this is way late!! sorry i've been swamped and our internet at home blows(not sure how much longer we're going to keep it really). ok so originally i was going to just wrap it up here, BUT i decided to extend things a smidge just cuz i've been having computer problems and time issues. looks like this is going to stretch out into another part or so as i wanted to break up the way thing went with this next part.
***************************************************************
The grey with the device in its hand started towards Merrow, but before it could do anything she touched both Big and Hammerskold on the shoulders.
“You’re both free of his hold, I had been waiting to do this but only got it to work now.”
She then reached over and touched Choopie as well and then flew up to the top of the tank. Hammerskold began firing at the greys, but they seemed to have some sort of force field surrounding them, so he switched tactics and aimed for the beasts instead. Big found a computer setup on the side of the tank. He went to it and saw that it was linked to the main server of the compound. Choopie looked for some kind of weapon and saw that one of the beasts that Hammerskold took down had a club of sorts. He ran over and picked it up, having a little trouble as it was a little big for him.
Creeping up behind one of the greys he swung at its head. Expecting to hit the force field he was surprised to find he connected and sent the little alien flying. The other two greys looked at each other then turned their attention to Choopie, before he had a chance to do anything he was lifted into the air and started to flail around. Getting a grip on himself he threw the club at one of the greys and knocked it out, but he was still being held up by the other one.
“Your attempts at escape are futile, you will never be able to get free from here!!” Boomed throughout the room as more beasts and a few more greys came in from all sides.
“Big, I hope you have some idea what you’re doing over there!” yelled Hammerskold.
“I think so….this system is just so, for lack of a better word, alien.”
“Well hurry it up we’re-“ he was cut off as one of the beasts swung at him knocking him clear across the room, he managed to hold onto the gun and fire at the beast until he hit the wall.
Meanwhile Merrow was busy at the top of the tank trying to find a way in.
“What do you think you’re doing up there little nymph? There’s no way into here if that’s what you’re thinking.”
“Not looking for a way in, looking to make sure there’s now way out.”
“What?!”
At that she placed her hands on the top of the tank and started chanting. The fluid in the tank started to swirl around as her chanting got louder. Her body started to glow brightly and the lead grey started to squirm as much as was possible inside the tank. Figuring out what was happening he started to scream filling the room with a cacophonous roar, changing to a slow gurgle. The fluid in the tank kept swirling around him then it started entering his body through any possible orifice it could. The greys and beasts fell to the ground from the telepathic screams, Choopie finally free fell to the ground as well.
Hammerskold, Big and Choopie all stared in awe at the brightly glowing Merrow and her magic assault on the lead grey. Soon all the fluid was gone from the tank, the lead grey looking like a more bloated, stretched version of itself. It clawed at the tank as its eyes grew enormous. Screaming again, the gang covered their ears then the grey imploded inside the tank refilling it with fluid and body parts.
“Aw gross, that’s just….aw man, I just threw up in my mouth, that was just wrong on sooo many levels!” said Choopie.
Merrow stopped glowing and let go of the tank then she fell towards the floor. Hammerskold ran over and caught her looking down at her as she passed out. The greys and the beasts all seemed to be out cold, Big tried to check if they were dead or not but was unable to tell.
They all turned at a sound behind them which sounded like a loud pop, and floating there with a look of terror on her face was Molly…..

FIRE IN THE HOLE PART 8!!!

ok so working on this all at once didn't happen. i needed to rework this part a few times as no matter how many times i wrote it, it was hard trying to incorporate everyone and not single anybody out. unfortunately that happened, but only because the events dictated it. that and the newest silent hill game kept dragging me away from the computer(sad part is it wasn't that good of a game, but i needed to beat it). anywho's here we go, 2 more parts left after this!!

“MOLLY!!!”

All four screamed and tried again to break free of the hold put upon themselves, but with the same result, nothing.

“What have you done with her?” asked Big. “How is it you have the ability to get her to ascend?”

“Ascend? Is that what you think I did? No she didn’t ascend, quite the opposite, she descended.” The creature chuckled, well more like chortled, as it was more of a laughter filled with fluids.

“What do you want with us? If we’re that much trouble why not just get rid of us all then?”

“I’d like to vote a firm ‘no’ on that Big,” said Choopie.

“What do we want of you? You would have found that out had you not escaped from the lab. We’ve been collecting specimens from this planet, and while we’ve have ample supplies, our encounters with those of your kind have been oh so rare.”

“Our kind? What’s he mean by that?” questioned Choopie.

“What I mean by that little ‘Goatsucker’ is all the different mystical or mythical creatures this planet has hidden amongst its dark corners. We’ve been trying to find more of you but have had no luck. The humans are fine but our attempts at alteration have been mostly failures. Our enforcers, we have been able to almost perfect, but we still have errors in the DNA of our subjects. We had hoped to try and see what we could do with any one of you, but then you had to go and cause that trouble I spoke about.”

“Yes we’ve come to understand that that is one of your reasons for being here, but there’s never been any proof of your existence. Let alone that you have set up shop under our very noses.”

“We have been here for longer than you think. While you’re government thinks that we come here in our ships, it’s the opposite. Our ships aren’t taking people into space they’re bringing them back underground.”

“And what of the ‘hole’ we found? What’s the significance of that?”

“Hole? What hole?”

“The one found in what we call Washington State?”

“Oh, yes. While it can be considered a hole, it’s evidently a poorly hidden vent.”

“Vent? What for?”

“So many questions, but I’ll humor you anyway. We need to exhaust our various duct work somewhere. It can get very stifling down here with all of the things we are in the process of doing.”

“That doesn’t explain how come people have experienced with regards to them.”

“Well we do release various radiations and waste at times from the vents. Some of what we use in our experiments can cause different effects upon your kind.”

“Now it makes sense. You said vents-how many are there?”

“It matters not just know that the problems with your atmosphere aren’t just your doing.”

“What?”

“Our little question and answer session is over I’m afraid. We’ve finished readying our other lab for you.” A door opened to their left and more of the beasts entered the room along with a few of the greys one of which was holding some sort of device in its hand.

“I believe you’ll be a lot more cooperative this time and to convince you to do so we have a little something special for the pretty little nymph here.”

FIRE IN THE HOLE PART 7!!!

Here we go! This part ended up being longer, but man was it fun!
***************************************************************
Then the alarms sounded, followed by the room being lit up by flashing red lights. Once his eyes adjusted Big looked in the doorway from which they entered. Leaning against the opening was Hammerskold holding a large assault weapon. He stumbled in and hit the switch to the restraints on Big’s table.
“Big.”
“Peter.”
When he was free Big got up and freed Choopie. He looked over to where Merrow was and saw she was floating in the air, still glowing her eyes red as fire. Then he heard the hiss of a door opening and saw two beasts enter the room. Hammerskold raised his gun but stared in awe as Merrow gathered the liquid from the floor and launched it at the beasts knocking them back against the wall. Choopie ran over to where Molly was being held and lowered the field holding her.
They started to head through the door where the beasts came in and saw four more heading down a hallway towards them. Looking behind them they heard three of them coming through the blown open doorway.
“Molly see if you can fly ahead through the beasts and see what lies down that hallway, we’ll see what we can do here,” said Big.
“Ok.” She stayed as high as she could but the beasts didn’t seem to see her pass them by.
The rest of them backed into the room again Hammerskold firing down the hallway at the four beasts taking out two of them. The other two tripped over the others and fell on their faces, easily picked off by Hammerskold. Choopie ran back into the room and yelled at the two beasts coming though the other door and stuck his tongue out. Getting one’s attention it lumbered his way, but before it got too close he ran onto the dais that Molly was kept on. The beast lunged at him and he rolled backwards off the dais and switched on the force field, it’s arms getting severed at the elbows, falling to the floor at Choopie’s feet.
“Eww gross, but flippin sweet!”
“Merrow,” yelled Big. “If I can crack on of the other vats can you do that trick again?”
“Yes, Big I can. Just hurry as I’m growing weaker.”
Big went over to the monitors and saw that he could turn off the alarm from that station so he did so. He then lifted the large monitor and launched it at one of the fluid filled vats cracking it open. As the water poured out Merrow flew over to it, raised her arms and launched it at the beast like a battering ram. The beast flew through one of the windows behind it and fell with a loud grunt. The four then headed down the hallway that Molly flew down.
Meanwhile Molly kept on going trying to make heads or tails of all the intersecting corridors. She came upon a room split down the middle by a large wall interspersed with large windows. Slowly creeping under one she looked through it to see what was on the other side. There were a few of those greys standing on a raised section of the floor surrounding a large table. Upon the table looked to be one of the beasts, only it wasn’t as large and seemed more human than the others. They were poking and prodding it with weird looking instruments, but it didn’t move. She ducked out of the way as one seemed to look her way.
She heard something behind her and saw that it was the rest of the team. She lifted her finger to her lips signaling them to be quiet and pointed at the window. They crawled under it and Big looked carefully at what was going on.
“Looks as if they’re doing some kind of experiments and making those beasts out of people,” he said.
“Great cuz that sounds like a good thing,” said Choopie.
“Let’s keep going and see how we can get out of here.”
They continued on a little further and came to a large set of doors with symbols and strange writing on different parts of it. Everyone was exhausted but the need to continue pushed them on. Big went to one of the panels on the side of the door and hit the button to open it. They entered a dark room and couldn’t tell what was in it. The door slammed shut behind them and the room was lit up by a bunch of blue orbs in the ceiling.
The room was empty with the exception of some stairs leading up to an platform area still enshrouded in darkness.
“Come up the stairs, I’ve been expecting you,” boomed a voice that echoed throughout the room and even though they didn’t want to, they felt compelled to do so and found themselves walking anyway. As they climbed the stairs more blue lights lit the way. Once they got to the platform above a succession of lights came on and they all stared in awe as before them was a large glass chamber filled with a green liquid. Inside was a creature unlike anything they’ve ever seen before. It looked like one of the greys only much larger and more bloated. It’s large, black eyes had some sort of white film and its skin had a purple hue to its grey. It didn’t seem to move at all and it’s arms and legs seemed like they were withering away.
“I don’t appreciate the trouble it seems you’re going to cause us,” came the booming voice again. It came from the creature but it’s lips didn’t move, instead the voice was in their heads.
“We weren’t looking for trouble,” said Big. “We were trying to figure out the mystery of the hole.” He realized though that he couldn’t move his legs. The others couldn’t move either it seemed, with the exception of Molly. Who was slowly trying to inch away.
“Regardless, you already caused much trouble and we will not stand for it. You must be held accountable. We shall start with the spirit.”
At that Molly screamed hunching over and clutching her chest.
“What is it they say about your kind?” the being asked. “Oh yes, you’re only still in this realm due to something keeping you from crossing to the other side. Let’s remedy that.”
And as Molly screamed more she started to flicker, then it seemed like she was being torn apart until she just disappeared……

ERRRR.........

When Big was able to see again he realized he was in his bed back at BEDLAM. Looking around frantically he figured out that he must have been sleeping and having one hell of a nightmare.......THE END

NAH!!! Just kidding! Sorry the next part isn't done yet. Sad It should be tomorrow though. And I will be doing the next few parts in one shot and will post them in succession a few days apart. There will be like 3 or 4 more depending upon how my outline fleshes out.

FIRE IN THE HOLE PART 6!!!

ok so here's part 6. we had a party we had to prepare for, then we found signs that we had some sort of rodents, which haven't shown up again, thankfully. so i got very caught up in taking care of that stuff, as well as having a hard time getting my attention focused.
****************************************************************
Coming through the door was a being not taller than 4 feet with a small body, a large head and bluish-grey skin. It looked at each of the beasts then continued walking past them and out a doorway on the far end of the lab room. The beast holding Molly and Merrow took Molly over to a raised dais and put her on it, as he did so a force field surrounded her. She tried to escape but was unable to do so. He then took Merrow to one of the vats, pushed a button which drained it, then opened it placing her inside and closing it back up. It then filled with the yellow fluid again. Big and Choopie were brought over to two tables where, after a futile struggle, were forced down on them and were strapped down by some kind of metal restraints.
As the beasts left through the same door as the little being Big looked over at Choopie.
“Are you ok?”
“Yeah, but my face hurts, A LOT.”
He then tried to get a look over to where Molly was and tried to talk to her but she wasn’t able to talk through the field. She looked terrified. Same thing with Merrow, whatever the fluid was seemed to be causing her some kind of pain.
“Big, what did you say that thing was again? A ‘grey’, what’s that?”
“An alien Choopie.”
“I thought they were supposed to be green? He was grey.”
“These are a specific type actually. They’re a highly intelligent being and haven’t been totally proven to exist.”
“Yeah but they say that about us too.”
“Good point.”
He then tried to see if he could try and free himself of the restraints, but it was not happening.
“So these ‘greys’, Big. What’s their deal?”
“Well it’s been said that they’re the beings involved in all the abductions that-“
“Wait, abductions? Like as in probes? In uncomfortable places?”
“Yeah that’s them.”
“We need to go, now.”
“Yeah well we’re not going anywhere, not anytime soon that is. So as I was saying, there’s been no released proof of them. There’s been conspiracy theories and governmental cover-ups surrounded them, Roswell being the most infamous of them all.”
“Well we need to do something ‘cuz there’s no way I’m getting probed!”
As Big looked around the room to see if there was any hope of finding something that could be any hope for escape he heard a loud crack. He looked over to the vat that Merrow was in and saw the glass had started to crack and inside she was glowing, her eyes gone red and the fluid she was in was bubbling as if it was boiling.
The casing erupted at the same time as the door they entered was blown open, then the room went dark…..

FIRE IN THE HOLE PART 5!!!

Ok so here's part 5. This is where things are getting really good, at least I think so. I'm taking a lot of liberties from here on out but it's going to be fun! I know it's late, I got caught up in some stuff, BUT I will post the next part this Thursday or Friday to make up for it. So without blabbing about why I'm late to posting this here ya go:
***********************************************************************************

The four of them were brought through a series of interconnecting tunnels all made of the same material as the cell they were in. Since they left what was the jail area, they hadn’t seen anything that could tell them where they were. All of the walls were bare with the exception of strange orbs which served as lights. They had given up trying to struggle free, the beasts had vice like grips and were not letting go. They didn’t respond to being talked, or in Choopie’s case, yelled at.

After what seemed like forever they came into a large open area. There were 2 large tunnels to the right and the left and a series of windows lined the wall furthest from them. As they headed towards the tunnel to their left Big was able to get a view through the windows. He saw that they were underground and down deep as he could see the rock face was glowing orange from magma below.

They entered the tunnel which had a slight incline and now the walls had shimmer to them. The floors were lit up as well, giving off a light green glow. A few more tunnels later and they came to another large room. This time with multiple tunnels branching off from it, there were no windows here though. Big looked to make sure everyone was doing ok. Choopie seemed bored and kept trying to squirm, Molly still looked scared and Merrow looked worried and her gaze had never left the direction from which they came.

The beasts took them down a tunnel to the right this time but now there were long, wide windows along the sides of the walls. Looking out form these Big was able to see that they were up a little higher and that they seemed to be in some sort of large complex. The tunnels shot all over the place and met at large oval shapes, which must be the large rooms they came across. He also noticed a few large pipes leading from a few of the oval shapes into the cavern walls.

Finally they came to a large door and one of the other beasts put its hand up to a red panel, the door then opened. They entered a very large room filled with all kinds of scientific instruments, large metal tables and some monitors flashing foreign images all over their screens. Along one of the walls were large vats with very strange beings within a fluorescent yellow fluid. From one of the walls a door opened and something short started to come through it..

“Um Big,” said Choopie. “That’s it! That’s the thing that I saw outside at the hole!”

“Oh my, I didn’t think they really existed,” exclaimed Big his mouth dropping.

“What is it, Big?” asked Molly nervously.

“A grey…….”

......to be continued........

FIRE IN THE HOLE PART 4!!

Hope everyone is liking the story. alas the art has gone by the wayside. I might do stuff after though. I've had guests staying last minute and tons of yardwork to do. BUT, I was thinking, how about a shout out to anyone here to do their own artwork based on the story? I think that would be really cool!!

ok i was having internet issues, AGAIN, so this is late, AGAIN. I really had it done, honest though. here's part 4 though, enjoy, like I said, these next two parts are going to be one helluva ride for the gang!!
****************************************************************

“They took your WHAT?!” grumbled Big.

“Er, um, nothing. I was just kidding. Ha Ha! Funny huh?” said Choopie while trying to stay out of Big’s reach.

“Guys! Guys!” yelled Molly. “We need to figure out what’s going on here. We can reprimand Choopie later Big.”
“Yes you’re right Molly. Sorry. Does anyone remember what happened?”

“I remember the little thing that appeared out of nowhere Big,” said Choopie standing behind Merrow.

“I didn’t get a look at him. Did anyone else?” Molly and Merrow shook their heads.”Choopie what did he look like?”

“Um, he was smaller than me I think and green I think, I couldn’t really tell. But it was like he opened a door and showed up. Kinda like that guy on that TV show, y’know the one with the other guy trapped in time and stuff and he goes from like one person to-“

“Ok I get it Choopie,” said Big. “So whatever it was it can travel without being seen, and if it showed up near the hole, then that means we must still be near it in some way. Now, if only we can find a way to figure out where we are exactly.”

They all looked around to try and figure out where they were. The room they were in was made of some kind of metallic alloy and smooth. There were no visible seams or cracks to suggest it was pieced together. There were slabs coming out of the walls which were evidently bunks of some sort, although they weren’t very big. The light they were able to see with seemed to just come from the walls, no sign of any light sources. The farthest wall from them was open but upon further notice it was some sort of barrier keeping them from being able to leave and keeping them from being able to break out. Hammerskold was still out cold in the farthest corner.

“I wonder what we’re being held for? Why not just kill us on the spot if they didn’t want us near the hole?” asked Big rhetorically.

“Hey Big, maybe we can ask that thing right there?” said Molly.

That thing being a hulking beast easily 8 feet tall and heading right towards them. It was all muscle, with a long face and two tusks extending from where it’s ears should be and down along its jawline. It’s arms were apelike in that they were long and it seemed to almost walk on it’s knuckles. There were two large nostrils that flared as it breathed and it had not two, not four, but six eyes, running along both sides of its face.

“Damn he’s ugly!” exclaimed Choopie.

The beast stopped outside their cell and stopped. Another three just like it appeared, one wearing some sort of gauntlet upon its left hand. The first one pushed something on the wall outside of the cell and the barrier shimmered slightly.

“Um, Big, this isn’t going to turn out well is it?” asked Choopie.

“We’ll see what happens Choopie, prepare to run if you can though, all of you. I’ll try to keep them from Hammerskold.”

The beast with the gauntlet on its hand walked thru the barrier and went straight for Molly, who tried to dart away, but to no avail, somehow it was able to grab her.
“BIG! What the? How is this possible?!” she screamed as the beast turned and grabbed Merrow in its free hand. She too was unable to get away. Big jumped at it, but was grabbed in midair by the first beast. He tried to squirm free but was unable to get away. Choopie made a break for the barrier but ran face first into it, unable to get through unlike the beasts. The third beast grabbed him as he held his face.

“I tink I boked my ‘ose”he said as he got carried away.

They left Hammerskold in the corner as all three carried the rest down a long, mildly lit corridor.

“Big, I’m scared,” said Molly as she tried to break free from the beast’s grasp.

“I know Mol, I am too ,” he said and he meant it.

.......to be, aw hell you know what haha!......

FIRE IN THE HOLE PART 3!

ok here's part 3. i totally fell behind on the picture for this. maybe what i'll do is just do a bunch and post them afterwards. i dunno, there's been no time for art lately. =( but anywhos, here's part 3. enjoy!!!

************************************************************

“Damn! Choopie!!!” yelled Big as he reached after the now falling little guy. “Quick Merrow, Molly get down there and see if you can find out what happened to him!”

“Stupid little-“started Hammerskold before being shot a dirty look from Big. He just stood near the rim of the hole.

The two of them flew down into the hole. After a few minutes went by, Molly flew out of the hole. She had a grim look on her face.

“Well?” asked Big reluctantly.

“He’s ok, but for how long I’m not sure. He’s caught on something on the wall of the hole. He’s not down too far. I told Merrow to stay with him just in case something happens. With a little rope we can get him back.”

“Alright, Hammerskold get some rope and hurry. Molly, go down and let Choopie know we’re going to get him back up here and let Merrow know we’re hurrying.”

She did ask told, then Hammerskold came to the rim of the hole with a large bundle of rope.

“Here, we’re wasting daylight though Big.”

“Shut it. We’re getting him back up here then we’ll continue. While we’re at it, how about you be of some use. See if you can get any vibes from what’s taken place around here.”

“Fine. But you know how much I hate using this power.”

“Again, shut it and just do it.”

Big lowered the rope down into the hole. After a bit, he felt a tug, then both Molly and Merrow came out of the hole.

“He’s all set Big,” said Molly. Merrow nodded in agreement.

Big pulled on the rope and in no time he had Choopie out.

“Thanks Big I thought I was a goner!”

“If I wasn’t a changed person, you would be. Now let’s continue. We don’t have too much daylight left.”

They set about to investigating the area. Other than the hole and the lack of snow on the ground there wasn’t anything to suggest any strange activities or phenomenon in the vicinity. Hammerskold was reluctantly getting set to use his ability of Telepsychometry to see what happened here before.

“So how goes it Hammerskold?” asked Big.

“So far all I’m getting is that there have been many people to come here, but from what I can tell none have ever left. There’s definitely something strange here.”

He was nearing the rim of the hole when he stopped for a second then he got a look of terror on his face and shrieked. Everyone ran over to him as he passed out from whatever it was he came across.

“What the,” said Big as he knelt next to him and checked his pulse. “He’s still alive but we won’t know what happened to him until he wakes up. We have to get him to a safe area until-“

“Um, Big, I dunno if that’s going to happen,” said Choopie thumbing over his shoulder. “We’ve got company.”

All four turned around to see a small creature appear out of nowhere and point something at them. There was a flash of light, then nothing.

They awoke a little later in a dark room with very little light emanating from the walls. Hammerskold was lying in a corner and everyone else seemed to be ok.

“Damn!” said Choopie.

“What?” asked Big.

FIRE IN THE HOLE PART 2!

Ok so i've been having trouble getting online at home so this is a day late. Sorry, I tried, that and I was working on the story at home only and not able to do it at work otherwise I would just use the computers there. So here we go with the next segment of my Perhapanauts fan-fic(if you haven't read part 1 yet, STOP! scroll down and read it first). Not sure if anyone is reading, but hope there's been some enjoyment. No sketch for this part though, didn't get a chance, plus nothing seemed to work out right. Next part though as it works itself into the picture better.

110 Years Later

BEDLAM Headquarters-Debriefing Room

“I called you all in here to bring up an interesting phenomenon that’s been brought to our attention again. Evidently there’s been more activity surrounding the mystery of-for the love of-Choopie! You’re late again!”

“Sorry Chief I was just getting into this killer game on my Playstation and it took FOREVER to find a save spot and I-“

“Save it, take a seat and pay attention.”

“What are we here for anyways Chief?” said Choopie as he took a seat in between Big and Hammerskold, the former who tolerates his behavior and he latter which can’t stand him at all. Also sitting in on the debrief are Merrow and Molly.

“I was getting to that before you decided to finally grace us with your presence. As I was saying there’s been a flurry of activity with regards to Mel’s Hole-“

“Hey I think I watched that thru Pay-Per View last night, wasn’t very good at all,” chuckled Choopie. Hammerskold rolled his eyes, while Big smirked slightly.

“Ahem! As I was saying, evidently more people are catching wind of Mel Waters’ discovery and are looking to find it and see what the story is all about. Unfortunately there’s also been a lot of people gone missing as a result of their curiosity. I want to send out a team to investigate the area and see if you can figure out what the story is with this ‘hole’-“

Again Choopie chuckled.

“Choopie since you find this so amusing you’ll be going on the mission. Along with yourself I want Hammerskold-“

“Aw, fer the love of, I don’t want to have anything to do with anything that little bastard.”

“Hey I have a dad, I just dunno who he is.”

“Anyways,” interrupted the chief. “I want Big to go as well, along with Merrow and Molly. Now the hole is said to be somewhere around Ellensburg, Washington State. Big, would you care to continue this?”

“Sure Chief. Now, Mel Waters appeared on a radio show discussing his findings of a supposed bottomless hole on some property he claims to own. He conducted a bunch of his own tests and could find no bottom at all. He also claims that the hole has some kind of mystical/supernatural quality in that someone dropped a dead pet into it and the animal came back out alive again.”

“Man that’s some hole haha! Man I can’t stop this. It’s just too much,” laughed Choopie.

“Now there hasn’t been any documentation put out on this, so it’s all hearsay. Hopefully we can get to the, um, bottom of this so to say.”

Choopie erupted into riotous laughter at that.

“You all must exercise the utmost discretion on this matter,” started the Chief. “This is to be nothing but recon. I don’t want any attention to our being there by all means possible.”

“Um, Chief?” asked Choopie.

“Yes?”

“Can I bring my Mess-You-Up gun?”

“No you cannot, I said this is all recon, no force at all.”

“Hmph, fine. Whatever you say Chief.”

“I mean it Choopie, no weapons. Any sign of trouble you’re to get out of there immediately. Be careful out there, this meeting is over.”

As they all shuffled out of the room to begin their preparations for the mission, Choopie muttered under his breath,”I don’t care, I’m bringing my gun.”

A while later the team has landed on the outskirts of a massive forest skirting along the base of a couple of mountains. Once ready they set off in search of the mysterious hole with no ideas of what they were going to run into. There was a decent amount of snowfall so wending their way through the woods was a little rough, but they finally found their destination. It was a small clearing in the woods clear of any snowfall.

“Hmm, how strange,” exclaimed Big as he looked around. “Why is there no snowfall here? Very odd indeed.”

“Are we there yet?” asked Choopie as he stumbled into the clearing. ‘Cuz, man I really gotta-AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!”

Those were his last words as he tripped and fell into the hole….

FIRE IN THE HOLE PART 1

Ok as promised here is the first installment of my Perhapanauts fan-fic. I have a general outline, but I'm doing it in parts so as to not wanna leak it too fast. I'm going to try to do a sketch with each part so bear with me if I don't, I rushed the piece for this one and I tried out something a little different with an all blacked out frame around it. I'm not 100% happy but I still like it.This first part is a little long but it had to be. I'm going to do the rest of the parts shorter. Hopefully this goes over well, and I hope everyone likes it. So without further adieu enjoy!

FIRE IN THE HOLE
A Perhapanauts fan-fic by Mike Estelle
All 'Haps characters copyright Todd and Craig

January, 1885

Eastern Washington State

Two men shuffled through a forest blanketed in a foot and a half of snow.

“Are you sure this is the way?”

“Yeah, that’s what that damned Injun said.”

“Well that ‘damned Injun’ prolly would have said anything, I mean for crying out loud, what you did to him….the poor guy’s never gonna be able to have any children.”

“Good we don’t need anymore of ‘em anyhows. But yeah, we should be near it now.”

“Well I hope so, I’m getting tired of the snow and freezing cold.”

“Y’know Joe, if’n I knew you were gonna whine like a little baby the whole way here I woulda left ya back in town.”

“I can’t help it Billy, jus’ bein’ that we ain’t got no money, these clothes are awful crummy to be wearin’ in the middle a’ winter and all.”

“Well jus’ knock it off, I’m tired of hearing you….wait I think I see it! Yeah, it’s right over there! Y’see it?”

“No I can’t see nothing….oh wait yeah I think I do!”

“Holy cow! Check it out, there ain’t no snow around it!”

‘It’ was a medium sized clearing in the woods. Where the whole area was covered in snow, this clearing was clear, not a flake in sight. They stumbled into the clearing, their legs cold and numb from pushing on in the freezing snow for the past few hours. They were looking for an area where there was supposed to be a bottomless hole in the ground, with mystical properties. They couldn’t get any other details, as the local natives wanted nothing to do with it, or them for that matter. Only after kidnapping and torturing one of them were they able to get any information.

“Ok Billy, so we’re here, where’s the blamed hole?”

Wide-eyed Billy pointed and replied, “Get the snow out yer eyes ya fool, it’s right over there!”

They both ran over to what was a large hole in the middle of the clearing. Both stood staring at it, mouths agape. They had actually found it! It was roughly 9 feet in diameter and lined with a retaining wall.

“Hooooleeeee, woul’cha lookit that,“ said Joe. “The Injun was tellin’ the truth. What do you suppose is in there Billy?”

“Not really sure but we’re going to find out, figger what the deal is with this thing. We’ll try to find out what he kept saying about it being mystical but cursed.”

“Well I’m a little weirded out here Billy. We’re all alone and who knows what’s out here.”

“Quit yer belly-achin ya big baby. I really shoulda left you back in town.”

Billy kneeled down and started to inspect the hole. Down a little into the hole it turns from the retaining wall to solid stone but then it gets too dark to see anything else. There seemed to be a strange energy coming from within, almost like a kind of heat but at the same time it wasn’t hot in the area, but it seemed to explain the lack of snow in the clearing.

“I wonder how deep this thing is Billy.”

“Not sure, I brought a little bit of rope so we’ll just have to try and see if we can find out. Maybe if I lower you into it with a torch you can tell me what’s down there.”

“Why do I gotta go down there?”

“Cuz, I’m stronger ’en you ya dummy.”

“Yeah, right, ok. If’n I gotta, that’s what I’ll do then.”

A little while later, rope secured and torch in hand Joe was ready to descend into the hole. While he was scared beyond a doubt he still wanted to do this. Who knows what will happen, and if they find something great they can make a lot of money from it.

“Alrighty Billy, lower me into the hole. Let’s get this going.”

Billy lowered him into the hole and eased him down slowly, when he got to the 300 feet length of the rope he held him there.

“What can you see? What does it look like? Is there a bottom to it?”

He received no answer.

“Gawd Joe, answer me ya fool!”

Still no answer. He proceeded to pull the rope back up and when he was able to see Joe he yelled down again.

“Well what’s down there?!”

Silent still he pulled him out completely, Joe’s face frozen in fear. He smacked him hard across the face.

“C’mon, what’s going on?!”

When he regained his composure Joe replied,” It just keeps going Billy, but there’s something down there.”

“Something? Or someone?”

“Can’t rightly be sure. I couldn’t see anything really, but I sensed something. The hair’s on the back of my neck stood up and I felt all kinda funny. Um, Billy, what’s that over there?”

Turning to where he pointed they both looked in awe as out of thin air a little creature appeared. Before they could react it raised it’s hand at them and the last thing they saw was a bright flash of light and then darkness.

'HAPS FAN-FIC GOES LIVE MONDAY!

Okay, so I know I haven't posted anything new in FOREVER. But that's going to change. Starting Monday I will be posting my fan-fic of the 'Haps I'm writing. After a few scrappings I finally have it down where it's going to go. I'm going to do it serialized. I'm going to post every Monday a new part continued from the post before. I think it'll be fun and so far the story is shaping up nicely. I was going to try to do a drewing with each part but that's looking like it's not going to happen. I'm going to do one for the first post and see how it goes. So hopefully this will get a good response and we all can have a blast with it!

CHASING THE DEVIL/LOOKING FOR THE 'HAPS...PART 2

So I got a little sidetracked again with work, so here's the last of the pix I'm going to post from my little road trip to Estellville. We had a bunch more but they're pretty much just different angles of the same shots, so....But there was also a little veterans memorial cemetery in the park as well, really cool, yet totally out in left field for it to be there.

At the back portion of the park there was this large lake, and leading out onto it you would walk on this floating dock. The whole time I was there I was reminded of the lake of ooze from creepshow. But it was really cool, very quiet and serene. Karen and I were both in awe at how quiet it all was, and how pretty it looked. Very cool, but really creepy. I tried to take a picture of this thing that was swimming around but it didn't want to some out right on the camera (I need a better camera). We think it was either a turtle or a snake, it was hard to see into the murky water.

Of course there were chuckles to be had at this one. Back at where the glass factory was there was the ruins of this little building, The Pot House. It was very tiny, like the size of a shed really. They definitely had some crazy small buildings back in the day. Kinda neat though.

Spanning a portion of the woods over where there should have been a little stream was this bridge. It ran from the road you drove on around the park to a little picnic/playground area. I decided to run on out and raise up some horns(yeah i'm a dork!)
And finally, this was a little area on our way out of the park, and if I had the proper clothing and time I so would have went exploring cuz out of the whole park if there was the jersey devil to be found, it would have been here! From what we were able to come across this was the only area that gave off any 'vibes', nothing crazy really, just one of those things that prod at the back of your mind and get the hairs to kinds tingle on the back of your neck.

So it was a really cool place to check out. We're going to go out on another trip sometime soon. Just have to get the time away from housework and yardwork to go. So I'll post again with those when we do. In the meantime I'm going to work on getting some artwork done to post. Oh and BTW, if you haven't seen Iron man get the hell offa your asses and go. For serious, the movie kicked total ass. I was never a fan of Iron Man, he just didn't hold me interest no matter how much I tried, but they nailed this movie something fierce. I wanna go see it again this weekend, but doubt I'll be able to. So yeah do it, now. Stop reading and go!!!!

Peas out!

CHASING THE DEVIL/LOOKING FOR THE 'HAPS...PART 1!!

Ok so a couple of weekends ago(yeah I'm a little behind on posting these!!), my girlfriend and I went for a road trip to the pinelands of dirty Jersey here. We went to the town that Todd and Craig had their Perhapanauts Annual take place where they fought the Jersey Devil, Estellville.(Which was a tip of the hat to myself, being that my last name is Estelle-Thanks Todd, you rule!!!) It was only like an hour from my house so it wasn't too bad of a trip, even though we still got lost getting there. Even though it was rainy and gloomy(perfect weather for this kind of a trip), it was good we didn't go at night, as this isn't the kind of area you want to be lost in!! We took a ton of pix so I'm going to split this into 2 parts, then hopefully I'll have some drewings to post. Works been crazy and the weekends have gone to doing yard work, so I'm behind, even though I've been itching to draw lately. I still have a story I'm working on of the 'Haps that will get posted as well. Maybe I'll do it as like couple of days of the week kind of cliffhanger-type story, where each post will be a continuation of the first in cliffhanger form-Does that sound like a cool idea? Lemme know....now onto the tour:

Estellville isn't much of a town, kind of more of a 'place'. There was this park there, called Estell Manor, but we didn't find much of a town proper. So this is where we spent the time 'hunting' hehe.....

In the park were the ruins of an old glass factory, pretty much the only thing that went on in the area, back in the late 1800's. The pix are better seen enlarged as there are certain details you can't make out otherwise....

This is my ugly mug, all 'artsy-photo', these are the ruins of the Melting Furnace area of the glass factory. It was really cool though to think that this was here, but never stayed preserved. Maybe the Devil killed them all? Mwahahahahaha!!! Ok for serious now.....

The tourist info sign for the Melting Furnace.......

And the last pic for this post is The other side of the Melting Furnace ruins, with Karen(my gf), I told her to look scared, and while she does, she also looks like she's saying, "WTF you taking my picture for?!" haha.....yeah so it was a pretty cool day trip, I wish we had had a little better weather, as I would have liked to looked around the woods more, that and I left the OFF! at home!! I'll post the last set over the weekend!

Peas out,

Mike

MATT'S COLORS FOR MERROW

So Matt sent me his absolutely fantastic coloring job on my pic of Merrow. He did such a great job. I'm speechless on how much it means that he took the time to do it. I liked the way it came out before, but seeing it in color is just mindblowing!! I've never had a piece done up in color before, cuz i suck with them, so this is a big deal for me. That and Matt did it. He's a hell of an artist and I thank him immensely for this! One day I'll do something for him, of some sort or something! So without further adieu here it is:

Awesome huh?!?!?! So again thanks Matt! Everything about this came out beyond what even I could imagine. Especially the water and the water serpents. Just....WOW!!!! Ok I'm going to stop gushing now. Hope everyone enjoys it as much as me!

FINAL MERROW COPY

Ok so here's the final version of my entry for the 'Haps jam. I felt the water spout and her pose needed repair so I did them up differently. I filled in the moon a little differently as well. I left the wings empty of her circles, as I'm having Mike's brother Matt, and maybe Leaf is he's up to it, color her up. Hopefully my picture doesn't suck so bad there's no adding color to it haha! Got tons to do so i'm outtie, peas!

FINALLY SOMETHING TO SHOW!!

Okay so I'm finally getting the courage to post something. I know it kinda ruins the final product and all, but I needed to get this out there cuz it's killing me not to. So this here's my piece for the 'Haps drawing jam. It's of Merrow and it's been a TOTAL pain to do, cuz I suck at women and water, as in the upshooting spout, is not my strong point.(The pics work best blown up)

So this is my rough I'm working from, I decided to have her frolicking as water nymphs are wont to do by the light of the moon. I also wanted to try my hand at water serpents so this worked out nicely. So I decided to draw them up kinda proper really fast. So here they are:

And finally this is my(hopefully) final rough, there's a little more to the left but my scanner cut it off, just a little more to the lake shore, bushes and moon. I'm trying to figure out if I'm shooting myself in the foot, cuz without doing it as colors, a night scene on a lake is a real chore. Alot of blacks and shadows and I'm just not that good, especially when I'm trying to get this done and fast cuz I'm not going to have much free time before the deadline(Damn you Todd!). It still needs work, and I'm not 100% happy with Merrow, but dammit I'm loving the serpents, moreso in the side pics I drew up. If I had photoshop, a decent scanner and a light box I'd probably have this frikkin thing done by now, but no, I have to still be stuck in the stone age of art hahahaha! Alright peas out!

AN UNFINISHED TRIBUTE

As I'm still kinda sick I wanted to throw this up here really quickly. I was going thru my cabinet looking for one of my dvd folders and came across this so I thought I'd post it. I started to do some sketches and what have you to do a tribute pic of my own for when the late, great 'Ringo passed. I never got far with it, as I got very intimidated trying to draw anything that he had before. I wanted to do a picture of Jarek crying on top of a bluff over looking the land, crying. I got a really good pic done of his face, but couldn't transfer it over, and then I had a lot of trouble with the landscaping. So as the time flew by I decided to write a tribute instead, as I'm a much better writer than I am artist. So here ya have it. If you're new here and haven't read the tribute I wrote, its the first post I made here. Ok gotta go hack up a lung(nice image right?) See ya!

A LITTLE CHANGE OF PACE

Ok so I'm just trying to finish getting over a cold. Wasn't a killer one, but it was enough. So while I was laying on the couch loafing around under the blankets this weekend I was able to get some movies watched, so I figgered I throw out my thoughts on them.

Saturday I watched Timeline with Paul Walker, Billy Connelly and Gerard Butler. While not the greatest movie on the planet, it was enjoyable and even though I can't stand Paul Walker, it was great watching Billy Connelly. I just love everything that man does. Easily one of my fave comedians/actors ever.

Then I watched The Time Machine with Guy Pearce, the chick who played Jill Valentine in Resident Evil Apocalypse and Jeremy Irons. Could have been A LOT better but I liked it. It needed a little more fleshing out I think as it kinda moved in spots it could have lingered and lingered in some spots where could have moved. There was this one point where Guy Pearce gets to a point where we've destroyed the moon and it was just really neat the way they had it shattered in space. So while not the greatest movie on the planet it was decent. I didn't have high hopes in the first place really.

Next I watched the WORST movie I've ever sat thru, and I've sat thru a TON of craptacular movies. Alien Apocalypse with Bruce Campbell and Renee O'Connor, Xena's 'lesbian-not really' lover friend from said show. Holy shit this was horrible!!! Bruce should never have done this. I kept hoping for it to get better, and it never did. Even he couldn't save the damned thing. It was just gawd awful. Never watch it, ever. I mean it. It's 90 minutes of your life you'll NEVER get back.

Finally I watched this horror flick called Trespassers. Nobody famous in it really. Well the big baddy from it was in the movie with that chick who had to be a dude for a newspaper story, from way back in the day, oh yeah Just One Of The Guys. Yeah anyways......it was ok. A group of kids go to mexico to go surfing, and get eaten by weird cultists. I've seen worse and I've seen better but I didn't pay anything for the movie, so it was a way to pass some time while sick.

Sunday I watched anime mostly. I have tons of it, and I never really get to watch it. My girlfriend hates the shit out of it, and while I try to get her to understand that it's not all whiny screaming people, she doesn't care. But I watched this movie called They Were Eleven. A neat little flick that was Old School anime. The dubbing wasn't AS bad as that suggests but it was still bad. The movie itself was about a group of people trying to get into a space academy and they're put on a stranded ship and have to use teamwork to pass the test. There's only supposed to be 10, but an eleventh person appears and they're trying to figger out who it is. Not bad, and there was some nice mystery hooks thrown into it. If you like anime check it out. It takes a little to get into but it was really good.

Then I watched a little short flick called Animation Runner Kuromi. At only 30 minutes long it was a nice change of pace. It followed a girl who gets put into having to run an animation studio during the last week of production on a tv show and it's way behind. It was a funny look at the whole way they do things in an animation studio, and while not for everyone, was a cool flick.

Finally, cuz my girlfriend got home and didn't want to sit thru any anime I watched The Batman Superman Movie that the WB did in 98. I just love what they did with their animated Batman and Superman shows, pre-Justice League. The original batman's were hands down the best, but I liked it a lot when they gave him the flat black cape and put a little japanese influence into it.
But this move was cool. I always like watching it when I can. Not long, and having both Mark Hamill and Clancy Brown in it at the same time as Joker and Lex is always a treat. I just love Mark's Joker though, easily the best that character has ever had.

So there ya have it, a little movie review to tide things over til the next post. I'll probably start doing more of these as well as some comic reviews too, if I can get the chance to.

THE FINAL BATCH!

Ok, so here's the final batch. I'm throwing them up early because I'm not sure when I'll be able to again. My girlfriend's grandfather passed away today, so the next few days are going to be a lot of running around. So this is the last of what I have and for the most part are recently done. Here ya go:
This one here is a few panels a guy I knew drew up and I had inked. He was in the indy biz back in the day, like early 90's. I had this idea I was working on at the time, and he was showing me a better way to draw it up. He left the last panel empty for me to fill in, but I couldn't get anything to work right with it, that and my style compared to his really didn't mesh up right. On a side note, he was a close friend of Jim and Tom McWeeney, the latter of course is one of the creators of one of my favorite dark horse originals, Roachmill. Ok random tangent over....

This here was a sketch I did 2 years ago just playing around with the pose, and to see if I still had any talent left after years of telephone doodles and to see if I could do the angle and whatnot.

This here was another sketch from 2 years ago, just some random barbarian type guy. Again just putzing around with it. The anatomy blows on the pecs, but again it was just me playing around.Another one of me just playing around. This guy liked to just inject HGH into his right arm, the left arm is severely jealous, but is happy it doesn't have a crappy shoulder pad on it.

I drew this really quickly at work, i think in like 5 minutes total really, in anticipation of the FF2 movie. I was psyched that the surfer was going to be in it, as he's always been a fave of mine. I tend to like my fast sketches better than my finished pieces. Maybe while I relearn my stuff I'll just do a crap load of these and then I'll post them up on here. And I'm ending this on a silly note here, this picture was done by my friend around the same time as the page up above. He absolutely hated a certain high profile comic artist and drew this up for me really quick. I'll give 5 bucks to the person who can 'NAME THAT ARTIST'! haha My posts for a while will probably be random stuff like movie/tv and comic reviews and I'm working on a written piece with Todd's 'Haps, so I'll probably post that as well once it's done! Alright peas out peeps.

UP YOURS 'WE LOVE THE 80's'....LATER 90'S STUFF

I love those VH1 we love the 80's shows. they had some great and funny stuff that just show how much cheese and craziness there was in that era. Now mind you, I was born in 75 but the 80's were some of my favorite years, especially where cartoons were concerned. I drew the above sketch of Lion-o 2 years ago while watching the series on dvd. It's just a quicky, but I love how it came out. This post is picture heavy cuz I'm trying to crank these out. I had to put in a ceiling fan yesterday and it took frikkin forever! Boo hoo me.

This pic was done later in the 90's, not sure of the exact year but I'd say maybe 96-ish as a ball park. The knight came out looking old as I went too much with the face wrinkles, and can you tell he's wearing a cape? haha....And the demon in the background was just a doodle mostly.

This pic I did for the autographs page for the 96 graduating class at DeVry where I was going to school at the time. I was trying to do it all manga style, but it still came out pretty good. Everyone loved it though.

This was a doodle trying to draw Lobo, Bisley style. Yeah we'll leave it at that, Gawd I hate hair! And yeah that's a jacked dude giving the finger to the left.

While I was heavy into Anime at this time, I can't draw it for shit. As simple as it looks, it's a tough style to nail. But here's a try anyways.

And this was an attempt and having a bunch of people falling off of a building, and I was trying to do the shadow heavy Mignola-ish thing with it. As it's unfinished you can tell how I felt about where it was heading.

That's all for this one. I'll post the rest of what I have next time, probably like Thursday or Friday. It's going to be crazy week. So it might even be Friday. See ya all then!
